Myat Thwe (Michiko) was raised in Myanmar (Burma) and came to United States in 2010 to start her undergraduate degree in Biology. Ms. Thwe has also helped started multiple minorities owned company from the general contracting industry, food industry to biotechnology company based in Pennsylvania and Maryland. Ms. Thwe assisted Business owners and Self-employed minorities in receiving Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans and COVID-19 Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) during COVID.
Presently, she has founded a Sushi Awarsei LLC and contracts to service Sushi and associated Asian products to Hospitals and Universities across Pennsylvania, Maryland, and New Jersey. Sushi Awarsei is dedicated in helping minorities especially towards refugees to get employment in food industries and helping them become franchise owners. While managing Sushi Awarsei LLC, Ms. Thwe is working towards her PhD in Biomedical Engineering at Drexel University. Her PhD works focused on genomic sequencing in Alzheimer disease.

Sushi Awarsei is small minority owned company that supplies Sushi and other Asian fusion products based in Philadelphia PA. Sushi Awarsei LLC is created by Michiko Thwe and Steven Kyaw, both raised in a country of Myanmar. As both founder are immigrants living in United States, they have dedicated this company to create food business opportunities for other fellow immigrants as well. Sushi Awarsei has workshops in training food safety course (Servsafe Food Manager Certificate), basic Sushi rolling classes and recipe modification to meet HACCP.
